850 cars showed up for this free afternoon / evening car show – to benefit the Wounded Warriors’ organization. The event was held in the parking lot for the MB2 Raceway in Newbury Park. There was no need to bring food, since there were a myriad of food trucks (including a grilled cheese truck which attracted my wife’s attention). We had a few cars there, and may other members were seen checking out the cars. Some of our group got there about 3:30 and were first in line to get in, while others straggled in at a later time. Some of us (yours truly included) not only came late, but entered through the spectators’ parking entrance, and found a very convenient spot at the show – for an easy exit. Ben confused us all by bringing his wife’s Nissan Z instead of his prized Corvette. I guess he wanted to come undercover this time! A free dyno was offered as well, and Steve (Rocketman) was the star with the highest rear horsepower rating and torque of any of the other cars – 565 horsepower! We miss the yellow racing stripe Steve – but after talking with you, understand why you removed it to leave the car just “sinister black”.  Thanks to Marsha for the photos.
